Public Walking Trails

Live stream nature trails

Comfy Creatures monitoring stations installed in nest boxes along public walking trails allow all members of the community to discover arboreal fauna and contribute to their conservation. Use the 'Comfy Creatures Monitor' app available for Apple and Android to stream live video and download environmental monitoring data from each box.

To connect:

  1. Download the app.
  2. Locate a nest box using the maps below. Walk up to the base of the tree.
  3. Turn on your phones airplane mode.
  4. Open your phones list of Wi-Fi networks and connect to the stations Wi-Fi network. E.g. 'CC_MS_1'
  5. Open the 'Comfy Creatures Monitor' app and click 'Start stream'.

Note: The monitoring stations are only awake at set times each day. Check the wake times for each site below.

Cubberla-Witton Catchment Networks (CWCN)

The Cubberla-Witton Catchments Network (CWCN) was established in 1999 as a volunteer organization focused on the re-establishment and maintenance of ecologically healthy catchments to deliver both environmental and community benefits. The catchments in our network are Cubberla Creek, Witton Creek, Sandy Creek and Toowong Creek, Western Creek (the Catchments), and in adjacent areas along the Brisbane River in the western suburbs of Brisbane.

See our CWCN catchment map.

CWCN is a not-for-profit organisation registered as a charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ABN 21 367 529 654). Over the last 25 years we have been very successful in securing grants from all levels of government and private organisations to support a great range of projects in our catchments including the Cubberla Creek Nestbox Trail which was funded from the 2025 Community Giving Grant by the Brisbane Airport Corporation.

CWCN encourages community engagement and connection with the environment, so CWCN eagerly supported the nest box trail!

See our website for the full list of our objectives and the activities we are involved in.

Wake times:

October 1 through March 30: 7-9am and 4-6pm daily.
